May 2020 Senior Thesis Project

I am the dark side of the sun. is Tucker‘s senior thesis project as a University Of Rochester, class of 2020 studio art major. Featuring a short animation along with illustrations, it is a journey through existential crises. The abstract imagery gives life to Tucker’s experience with dissociation and derealization. She hopes to connect with others that experience such spiraling thoughts and encourage those that are unfamiliar to reconsider how they define their reality.

Thesis Statement

Below is the thesis statement, originally written as the script for the animated feature.

Illustrations

The following were initially intended as screenprints, but this was unrealized due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Expressions of dissociative moments, these illustrations began as “Dissociation Doodles”, first displayed on Tucker’s Instagram.
